The ideal candidate will have solid experience in transformer engineering, leadership skills and the ability to promote continuous improvement, productivity and product quality.
Main Responsibilities:
- Team leadership: Lead and motivate the team (10 people) to ensure the production and delivery of high-quality transformers on time.
- Process improvement: Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve product quality.
- Interdisciplinary coordination: Ensure smooth communication between the electrical and mechanical engineering teams.
- Problem Solving: Collaborate with teams to resolve technical issues and implement design changes to improve product performance and manufacturability.
- Production Management: Oversee the planning and execution of production schedules to meet customer demands and inventory requirements.
- Quality Control: Implement rigorous measures to ensure all products meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications.
- Safety Culture: Promote a safety culture by ensuring all operations comply with environmental, health and safety guidelines.
- Data Analysis: Work with the Production Manager to analyze production data, identify trends and make informed decisions to optimize production.
- Talent Development: Recruit, train and coach team members to build a high-performing team.
- Coordination with Other Departments: Collaborate with sales, customer service and logistics teams to ensure alignment of production capabilities and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field.
- Proven experience in engineering management, particularly in product development in the manufacturing sector.
- In-depth knowledge of transformer design, manufacturing processes and industry standards.
- Proven leadership and engineering project management skills.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder relationship management.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex technical information in a clear and compelling manner.
- Innovative mindset, focused on continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands and technologies.
- Available to travel between operating sites in Canada (Quebec and Ontario).
- Bilingual French and English (written and spoken).
