Job Description

The hardware designer plays a crucial role in all stages of product design, collaborating closely with members of the R&D team, including firmware, mechanical, certification, and test engineering, as well as other departments such as sales, purchasing and production. Its primary role is to design and test printed circuit boards for telemetry and other related products, ensuring compliance with defined specifications to ensure the quality and functionality of the final products.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with various members of the R&D team to design new products.
  • Design analog and digital electronic circuits, establishing hardware requirements, creating circuit and circuit board layouts, and generating manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform debugging, testing and validation of prototypes under various operating conditions.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation throughout the development and validation phases.
  • Participate in product certification (FCC, PTCRB, Explosive atmospheres and others).
  • Contribute to the commissioning of products in collaboration with the purchasing and production departments.
  • Ensure compliance and maintenance of the structure of the equipment department, while participating in its improvement.
  • Help with various projects aimed at reducing costs and optimizing processes.

Required Profile

Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a hardware designer.
  • Experience debugging hardware issues using laboratory equipment.


  • Have participated in the certification of an electronic product.
  • Have contributed to the design of an electronic product that was manufactured in large quantities.
  • Experience in an industrial environment (sensors, telemetry, automation, assembly, life cycle).


  • Proficiency in Altium Designer software or other electronic design software.
  • Mastery of typical tools for this position: multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectral analyzer and others.
  • As our business is focused on the Internet of Things, the following knowledge would be considered an asset:
    • Cellular modules and operation of cellular networks.
    • RF design.
    • Microcontrollers.
    • Bluetooth standard.
    • Communication protocols for sensors (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-485, 4-20mA and others).
    • Battery-powered products (minimization of consumption to increase lifespan).
