YOUR MAIN DUTIES

  • Actively support the Director, Credit and Risk Management in in-depth analysis and special projects related to the performance of the Risk Management department;
  • Discuss and negotiate with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers on key risk mitigation plans and implement them to minimize business risk;
  • In collaboration with managers, brokers and insurers, actively participate in the renewal of various insurance plans (global and local);
  • Lead the insurance renewal process (including gathering the required information and producing the necessary analysis) in a timely manner;
  • Manage insurance documentation (cover notes, policies, certificates, insurance summaries and invoices) and ensure compliance;
  • Obtain the best insurance terms for risks and compare them with those in the marketplace;
  • Review the wording of a variety of insurance policies and manage required change requests with insurance brokers;
  • Present insurance plan terms and obligations to managers (global and local) and discuss possible changes required to our business processes to meet insurance terms;
  • Develop and manage the supervision of claims, insurance settlements and risk assessments;
  • Prepare claims files, notify insurance providers and track cases;
  • Update claims and incident databases and produce relevant management reports;
  • Enhance the risk management database and information system to ensure portfolio accuracy;
  • Gather all required data from multiple sources;
  • Develop systems or processes to collect and store data for future analysis projects;
  • Create reports, presentations, and process documents to display results and support managers in their decision making;
  • Conduct research and analyze data to understand business and operational risks, concerns and impacts of decisions;
  • Support risk management staff in obtaining and delivering bonds and certificates of insurance in a timely manner;
  • Produce risk management budget, forecast costs and allocate to different regions or business units;
  • Review contract clauses related to the relevant business area;
  • Identify and evaluate risks of various contracts;
  • Provide advice to managers regarding contractual risks;
  • Support internal and external clients with a variety of risk management and insurance-related requests;

YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in finance combined with a professional certification (CRMP or other);
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a risk management or insurance-related field;
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and deal with change;
  • Effective and efficient time management, ability to multi-task and good priority management;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, professional discretion and ability to adapt to changing business needs;
  • Strong ability to self-motivate and manage priorities effectively according to team and departmental goals;
  • An exceptional inclination for customer service (service-oriented mentality);
  • Attention to detail and results;
  • Collaborative work attitude and ability to positively influence decision making;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Fluency in French and English.

THE MANDATE OF THE RISK MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

To proactively support the company’s commercial and strategic growth opportunities through best practices and controls, in order to provide visibility to the financial health of the wholesalers and dealers, contribute to the strategic plan and optimize the company’s cash flow.

This position is based in Montreal, Canada and reports to the Director, Credit and Risk Management.
