The Director of Operations organizes and supervises the production of products according to orders and deadlines. The production of a total value of CAD 15M is divided between the Montreal site and partners in North America, Europe and Asia.
He/she manages, ensures and guarantees the industrialization of the products in the best conditions of cost, quality, deadlines and durability, and implements the industrial scheme of the project.
Main functions
- Establish the production plan.
- Analyze the needs in components and shortages.
- Ensures the planning and monitoring of manufactured products in compliance with costs, deadlines and quality, according to orders and manufacturing deadlines.
- Report major risks and short-term deviations that have an impact on delivery times.
- Ensures the weekly follow-up of the production plan according to the possible changes of priority and/or delays in the delivery of components necessary for the realization of the products.
- Proposes and carries out improvement actions on the production methods.
- Manages the capacity of the workshop by controlling the availability of resources in the short and medium term (personnel, production resources, etc.).
- Supports the valuation of products and the definition of the industrial/material part of the offers (participates in the offer review) in conjunction with the buyer.
- Ensures good technical synchronization and planning of the supply chain/suppliers on development and production.
- Initiate and manage industrial risk analysis (manufacturability, maintainability, cost (DFC), durability.
Education and experience required
- Knowledge of the industrial system in the different sectors of activity.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of industrialization files.
- Knowledge of the requirements specific to the fields of activity.
- Experience in Industrialization and Procurement.
- Management, team management.
- Minimum 5 years experience in this type of position.
