Our client’s industrial mechanics department works mainly in the heavy industrial field (mining, pulp and paper, port). Within this field, it specializes in 3 main sectors
- Operations support (OPEX)
Chutes and tanks (Platework)
Customized equipment (Mechanical systems)
In order to develop and solidify the custom equipment (mechanical systems) sector, we are looking for a candidate who will be able to :
- Use or share his network of contacts to create business relationships with new customers
- Take charge of new projects, from the service offer to the invoicing follow-up, including the follow-up of the schedule (costs and schedule)
- Actively participate in the design, including calculations, of new projects
More specifically, his main responsibilities within the custom equipment sector (mechanical systems) will be :
- Establish (or help establish) business relationships with new Clients
- Establish the scope of work of new projects in order to adequately estimate the hours required for its execution
- Actively participate in the development of service proposals
- Take charge of new projects in order to respect budgets and schedules (we use our internally developed management software for cost tracking and Wrike for schedule tracking)
- Participate in design (SolidWorks) and calculations (material resistance, finite element analysis, etc.) during project execution
We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:
- 7 to 10 years experience in the field of custom equipment design (mechanical systems)
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers
- Leadership, autonomy and interpersonal skills (communication)
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
- Excellent aptitude for multidisciplinary teamwork
- Very autonomous, mastering the issues of industrial production
- Good knowledge of SolidWorks design software and its finite element analysis complement Simulation
