YOUR CHALLENGES

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Technical Services Superintendent will:

  • Develops and implements the overall engineering strategy;
  • Administers and maintains the Life-Of-Mine plan with the objective of optimizing operations and performance;
  • Develops, implements, maintains or exceeds high standards of mining engineering techniques;
  • Carries out the various operational and capital budgets required for operations;
  • Effectively control mining costs through the implementation of monitoring procedures;
  • Directs all mining engineering services;
  • Directs the evaluation of all potential mineral areas for development and extraction;
  • Directs the mining engineering staff in order to make the extraction of the ore profitable;
  • Improves grade control and minimizes dilution through mine designs and mine plans;
  • Sets production targets, tracks their achievement and corrects problems as they arise;
  • Follows up on the completion of economic evaluations and feasibility studies for underground and open pit projects;
  • Ensures that the necessary manpower and equipment are in place to achieve the planned production within the
    costs;
  • Manages performance by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching to direct reports and

  • Nurtures and maintains a high performance culture;
  • Assists the management team in setting guidelines and developing medium and long term operations and project development strategies for the mine

  • Identifies options and implements measures to establish engineering best practices;

YOUR PROFILE

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent engineering degree ;
  • Holds the title of the Ordre professionnel des Ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Has between 8 to 12 years of experience in mining and engineering;
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership and management role;
  • Have health and safety and team spirit as key values at work;
  • Good knowledge of various engineering and mining methods is required. ;
  • Working knowledge of the Mining Act as it relates to mining operations;
  • Experience in writing reports in both official languages;
  • Strong knowledge of Autocad and Promine software as well as Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, MS Project, Powerpoint);
  • Analytical skills, long term vision;
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
