Technician / Mechanical Designer

Our client, a Montreal company specializing in personalized engineering solutions for the industrial and building sectors, is looking for a mechanical engineering technician/designer.

The main responsibilities (+60%) will be:

• Draw up 2D/3D models produced by other members of the team;
• Review plans produced by other team members and plan corrective actions.

In addition (asset):

• Involvement in the implementation of standardized drawing methods;
• Implementation of a PDM (or equivalent) to automate certain drawing steps.

Secondary responsibilities (-40%) will be:

• Take charge of operations support projects (OPEX), involving:
  • 2D/3D modeling;
  • Integration with point cloud;
  • Drawing (option).

At our client, they operate their own scanners (Trimble X7 and Peel 3). The chosen person, if interested, will be able to take scans at clients’ homes.

*Note: The chosen person will have to indicate to the other members of the team the errors that were made. Someone with a calm temperament and a conciliatory attitude, gradually making changes in methods to achieve uniformity, would be ideal.

Technical skills:

• Several years of experience with SolidWorks;
• Asset: Good knowledge of PDM or other software of the same type;
• Option: Experience in 3D scanning

The department works in 3 main areas:

• Operations support (OPEX);
• Chute of transfers, hoppers and tanks (platform);
• Custom design.
