Our client is looking for an engineer with good knowledge of the municipal field and roads, eager to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team and to meet challenging challenges. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting and supervising studies, analyzes, concepts, plans and specifications for various mandates. Under the authority of the Service Manager, you will be responsible of the projects, to ensure the management of the budgets and you will have to work in close collaboration with other professionals as well as the technical staff and the client. Your expertise and knowledge will be used in many projects of all sizes. The respect of the deadlines, the technical requirements, the established procedures and the system of quality will be integral part of your work. The project manager coordinates various projects, ensures the respect of the deadlines and the quality of the realization and the budget for all the projects entrusted to it. He also ensures compliance with the standards, codes, regulations and applicable laws that he himself has circumscribed.

Responsibility

  • Assure responsibility for budget monitoring of projects and coordinate the processing of official documents inherent to each project;
  • Develop, plan and coordinate the implementation of projects or programs;
  • Lead and perform studies and technical analyzes ;
  • Develop project parameters engineering requirements and documentation of tenders for services required for projects ;
  • Supervise technical staff;
  • Design and draft plans and specifications;
  • Conduct studies, cost estimates and designs for general works engineering;
  • Prepare the documents required for the calls to tender;
  • Estimate construction costs and evaluate quantities;
  • Follow up on the mandates and general supervision of all stakeholders involved in carrying out the work;
  • Assure a close collaboration and good information transmission between Project inspectors;
  • Inspect and verify the condition of works in the field, issue technical advice ;
  • Follow the progress of work and ensure compliance with plans and specifications;
  • Participate in site meetings;
  • Write visit reports;
  • Meet with clients;
  • Accompany, assist and advise clients in investment planning and asset management;
  • Contribute to the development of the company and its market.

Required Skills

  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering combined with a minimum experience of 7 to 10 years in the field;
  • Microsoft Office suite; Knowledge of good practices in contract management, project management, tendering and procurement processes; Knowledge of MS Project, Autocad, Civil 3D software, etc.
  • Have experience in road or municipal engineering project;
  • Have excellent command of written and spoken French;
  • Candidate must be independent, detail-oriented, show initiative and resourcefulness, be persevering, reliable, responsible and dynamic;
  • Great analysis capacity;
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills;
  • Client orientation and diligent service;

  • Good technical knowledge in municipal infrastructure of roads, sewers and aqueducts, drinking water and wastewater treatment, and others

Asset

  • Experience in building, water games, roads, water treatment and municipal infrastructure;
  • Have strong teamwork skills and the ability to evolve in a multidisciplinary environment;
  • Skills, experience or first and second cycle university degree in project management.

Specific requirement

  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Have access to a car to make trips
