OHS Leader (Quebec and Maritimes)

Under the supervision of the National OHS Director and in collaboration with a junior advisor, you will have the following responsibilities :
- Assume a leading role as an expert, resource person and coach for all managers and employees in matters of occupational health and safety
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with operational teams in order to understand their OHS needs and enhance existing programs.
- Develop and apply control mechanisms to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of our procedures.
- Carry out site visits and support teams in collaboration with their health and safety committee or representative during the investigation and analysis of accidental events, site inspection and risk analysis.
- Conduct in-depth incident investigations, analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
- Work closely with site managers to implement and maintain OHS policies and procedures, as well as ensure compliance with local and provincial regulations.
- Actively participate in promoting a positive safety culture by encouraging employee participation and recognizing exemplary safety behaviors.
- Be involved in the development of prevention tools (prevention campaigns, capsules, articles, etc.) and ensure their dissemination.
To complete this challenge you must:
- BAC in HR, Industrial Relations, or various training in OHS.
- 5-10 years of expertise in OHS, with field experience and in a unionized environment.
- An analytical mind, but also very practical.
- Be rigorous and organized.
- Be able to influence and rally people by adapting to the various interlocutors you will have.
- Advanced risk analysis, problem solving and communication skills.
- Be an autonomous, proactive, agile and energetic person.
- Bilingualism.
- Open to traveling from time to time.
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit, you like to manage your projects from A to Z in complete autonomy and you are a person of action with an ability to influence people in a positive way.
